Katie started GEMS in 2012 with a few hundred dollars and two middle school girls. A Randolph Union alum, Katie graduated from Hamilton College in 2015 and currently works as a Vermont journalist. She loves to mountain bike, write, engage in a local church, and learn how to lead, tie-dye and dance with GEMS girls.
Marya grew up in Brookfield, VT, and joined GEMS as a Co-Director in 2014. Since then she has moved to college to study environmental biology, but has maintained her love of camp cheers and encouraging young women to support each other.
Shannon joined GEMS in the fall of 2018. She is a fourth grade teacher in Montpelier, a makerspace enthusiast, and a mom. She lives in Northfield with her three kids and an ever-expanding garden. Prior to becoming a teacher, Shannon was a camp counselor and director, and is thrilled to be working with kids in the summer once again.
